Weight Limitations
The maximum gross weight of a container for our road transport within Victoria is 31 tonnes. This includes the weight of the container itself.
Therefore, the maximum cargo weight for goods is:
- 28.7 t for a 20GP container.
- 27.2 t for a 40GP container and 27.0 t for a 40HC.
Weights greater than this will require unpacking at the terminal and will incur additional charges.
Additionally, for deliveries via sideloader, containers with a gross weight of over 23.0 t will incur additional charges due to additional resource expenditures to maintain compliance with National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) laws and regulations. For deliveries via Standard Trailer (SKEL), containers with a gross weight of over 28.0 t will incur similar additional charges.
